Gresham’s Prep & Pre-Prep School is an independent prep day and boarding school for boys and girls (50%/50%) between the ages of 2 and 13 years. Boarding from Year 4 for the 10% of pupils who board. 50% are full boarders and 50% are weekly or flexi boarders. It is a Church of England school, open to all faiths and none. The school has an academically selective admissions policy from Year 3. It is the prep school to Gresham’s School, an all-through school to age 18. Gresham’s Prep & Pre-Prep School fees range from £4,800 (Rec) to £8,650 per term (2025/26). Full boarding fees are £12,120 per term. Fees include VAT and lunches.

Gresham’s Prep & Pre-Prep School has two classes per year to Year 2, three from Year 3, four from Year 7, and an average class size of 14 pupils.

School curriculum is based on the National Curriculum with bespoke additions and variations. It also includes PSHE, French, Spanish, German, Latin. The school is one of the 50 prep schools with the most extensive academic and hobby extra-curricular programmes in the UK.

There are regular educational trips for all year groups, visiting speakers and residential trips from Year 5. School has an extensive outdoor learning facility, OWLS (Outdoor Wild Learning School) used by all year groups. Saturday School from Year 5 (optional for Years 3 and 4) feature arts and sports activities.

Specialist teaching

Specialist teachers for music, art, languages, computing, drama and sport throughout, and for most subjects from Year 5.

Sport at Gresham's Prep & Pre-Prep School

5 Games and 1 PE session per week. School is one of the 50 prep schools with the most extensive sports offers in the UK. Competitive teams in major sports from Year 3. In recent years the school has enjoyed national success in athletics, hockey, shooting, skiing.

The Arts at Gresham's Prep & Pre-Prep School

Art, music and drama/performing arts are taught as discrete curricular subjects to all pupils. All pupils learn an instrument in class and two-thirds take extra-curricular instrument lessons from Year 3. Six choirs, orchestra and 7 or 8 instrument ensembles. The school is one of the top 50 UK prep schools for the breadth of its creative and performing arts extra-curriculum.

Wraparound care

Wraparound care from 8.00am to 6.50pm. Facility for occasional boarding.
