St Margaret’s Preparatory School is an independent prep day and boarding school for boys and girls (40%/60%) between the ages of 2 and 11 years. Boarding from Year 5 for the very small number of pupils who board. All are full boarders. It is a Church of England school, open to all faiths and none. The school has a non-selective admissions policy. It is a standalone prep school and part of the same trust as St Mary’s School, Calne. The St Margaret's Preparatory School curriculum

School curriculum is based on the National Curriculum. It is thematic in pre-prep, with more discrete subject teaching in Years 3 to 6. It also includes PSHE, reasoning, French, Spanish, Latin. UNICEF Rights Respecting School Gold accreditation. Also, there are five extra-curricular academic clubs per term.

Sport at St Margaret's Preparatory School

School offers over 15 different sports through the year, through both the curriculum and extra-curriculum. Competitive teams in major sports from Year 3.

The Arts at St Margaret's Preparatory School

Art and music are taught as discrete curricular subjects to all pupils. Drama is part of the co-curriculum. All pupils learn an instrument in class and up to half take extra-curricular instrument lessons from Year 3. Three choirs, orchestra and several instrument ensembles. Each pupil may participate in up to 10 different extra-curricular creative and performing arts clubs. ‘Sing Up!’ Platinum Award accreditation.
