Brighton College Prep School is an independent prep day school for boys and girls (50%/50%) between the ages of 3 and 11 years. It is a Church of England school, open to all faiths and none. The school has an academically selective admissions policy. It is the prep school to Brighton College, an all-through school to age 18. Brighton College Prep School fees range from £5,442 (Rec) to £9,212 per term (2025/26). Fees include VAT and lunches.

The Brighton College Prep School curriculum

School curriculum is based on the National Curriculum and the ISEB Common Entrance curriculum with some additions and variations. It also includes PSHE, French, Mandarin. School has a Dyslexia Centre with 7 teaching rooms and 36 workstations. Tailored support provided in groups of 7-9. The school offers each pupil between 5 and 10 different extra-curricular academic activities or hobby clubs.

There are regular educational trips for all year groups, visiting speakers, Beach School to Year 3 and a residential trip in Year 6.

Specialist teaching

Specialist teachers for sport, music, languages, and art throughout, for DT, home economics and drama from Year 4, and for all subjects in Year 6.

Sport at Brighton College Prep School

School offers between 10 and 15 different sports over the course of the year. Competitive teams in major sports from Year 3. In recent years the school has enjoyed national success in athletics, football, golf, netball, rounders.

The Arts at Brighton College Prep School

Art and music are taught as discrete curricular subjects to all pupils, as is drama from Year 4. Dance features in the co-curriculum and there is the Brighton College School of Dance. All pupils learn an instrument in class and two-thirds take extra-curricular instrument lessons from Year 3. Four choirs, two orchestras and several instrument ensembles. The school offers each pupil over 5 different extra-curricular creative and performing arts clubs.
