Boarding from Year 3 for the very small number of pupils who board. 50% are full boarders and 50% are weekly or flexi boarders. It is a Anglican school, open to all faiths and none. The school has a non-selective admissions policy. It is the junior division of Haberdashers’ Monmouth School, an all-through co-ed day and boarding school to age 18. Haberdashers’ Monmouth Prep School fees range from £4,188 (Rec) to £6,137 per term (2025/26). Full boarding fees are £11,265 per term. Fees include VAT and lunches.

The Haberdashers' Monmouth Prep School curriculum

School curriculum is based on the Welsh National Curriculum and also includes PSHE, reasoning/study skills, Welsh, French, Latin. History, geography, and RE are taught within a ‘creative curriculum’ to Year 4. The school offers each pupil between 5 and 10 different extra-curricular academic activities or hobby clubs. In recent years the school has enjoyed national tournament success in chess, general knowledge quizzes, science.

Specialist teachers for sport, music, languages, art, DT and computing throughout, and for most subjects from Year 5.

Sport at Haberdashers' Monmouth Prep School

School offers over 15 different sports through the year, through both the curriculum and extra-curriculum. Competitive teams in major sports from Year 3. In recent years the school has enjoyed national success in trampolining.

The Arts at Haberdashers' Monmouth Prep School

Art and music are taught as discrete curricular subjects to all pupils. Drama is taught from Year 5 and is part of the co-curriculum. All pupils learn an instrument in class and three-quarters take extra-curricular instrument lessons from Year 3. Choir and several instrument ensembles. There are some extra-curricular creative and performing arts clubs.
