King’s Rochester Prep & Pre-Prep Schools is an independent prep day and boarding school for boys and girls (60%/40%) between the ages of 3 and 13 years. It is also a Choir School. Boarding from Year 7 for the very small number of pupils who board. 60% are full boarders and 40% are weekly or flexi boarders. It is a Church of England school, open to all faiths and none. The school has a non-selective admissions policy. It is the prep school to The King’s School, an all-through school to age 18, and is an associated member of the Woodard Corporation. King’s Rochester Prep & Pre-Prep Schools fees range from £5,159 (Rec) to £7,557 per term (2025/26). Full boarding fees are £11,335 per term. Fees include VAT and lunches.

Leavers' destinations

The King's Rochester Prep & Pre-Prep Schools curriculum

School curriculum is based on the National Curriculum and the ISEB Common Entrance curriculum with some additions and variations. It also includes PSHEE, French, German, Latin. It is an Apple Distinguished School to reflect the high degree of integration of digital learning in the curriculum. The school offers each child a handful of extra-curricular academic activities or hobby clubs.

Sport at King's Rochester Prep & Pre-Prep Schools

School offers between 10 and 15 different sports over the course of the year. Competitive teams in major sports from Year 3. In recent years the school has enjoyed national success in athletics.

The Arts at King's Rochester Prep & Pre-Prep Schools

School educates the choristers of Rochester Cathedral. Art and music are taught as discrete curricular subjects to all pupils. Drama is part of the co-curriculum. All pupils learn an instrument in class and two-thirds take extra-curricular instrument lessons from Year 3. Choir (in addition to the Choristers), orchestra and five instrument ensembles. The school offers each pupil over 5 different extra-curricular creative and performing arts clubs.
