The St Swithun's Prep School curriculum

School curriculum is based on the National Curriculum and also includes PSHEE, reasoning, STEAM, thinking skills (‘High Performance Learning’), Spanish, Latin. Weekly STEAM Genius Hour for years 3&4 and 5&6 develops independent project skills. ‘Flourish’ is a scheme that encourages achievement and participation across six areas of the broad curriculum. The school offers each child a handful of extra-curricular academic activities or hobby clubs.

Specialist teachers for sport, music and languages throughout, and for most subjects from Year 5.

Sport at St Swithun's Prep School

School offers between 10 and 15 different sports over the course of the year. Competitive teams in major sports from Year 3. In recent years the school has enjoyed national success in sailing.

The Arts at St Swithun's Prep School

Art, music and drama are taught as discrete curricular subjects to all pupils. All pupils learn an instrument in class and 80% take extra-curricular instrument lessons from Year 3. Three choirs, orchestra and several instrument ensembles. The school offers each pupil over 5 different extra-curricular creative and performing arts clubs.
