The Chorister School curriculum

School curriculum follows the National Curriculum and also includes PSHCE, French, Latin. Subjects are taught separately in prep, but thematically (‘creative curriculum’) in pre-prep. The school offers each pupil between 5 and 10 different extra-curricular academic activities or hobby clubs.

Sport at The Chorister School

School offers between 10 and 15 different sports over the course of the year. Representative teams in major sports from Year 3.

The Arts at The Chorister School

School educates the choristers of Durham Cathedral. Art and music are taught as discrete curricular subjects to all pupils. Drama is part of the co-curriculum. All pupils learn an instrument in class and nearly all take extra-curricular instrument lessons from Year 3. Five choirs (excluding the Choristers), orchestra, and seven or eight instrument ensembles. The school offers each pupil over 5 different extra-curricular creative and performing arts clubs.

Wraparound care from 8.00am to 6.00pm. Facility for occasional boarding.
