Sport at The Portsmouth Grammar Junior School

School offers over 15 different sports through the year, through both the curriculum and extra-curriculum. Competitive teams in major sports from Year 3. In recent years the school has enjoyed national success in hockey, rounders, sailing.

The Arts at The Portsmouth Grammar Junior School

School educates the choristers of St Thomas’ Cathedral, Portsmouth. Art is a discrete curricular subject, as is music to Year 2. Two periods of performing arts (music, dance, and drama) per week for all pupils from Year 3. All pupils learn an instrument in class and two-thirds take extra-curricular instrument lessons from Year 3. 3 choirs (in addition to the Cathedral choristers), orchestra and several instrument ensembles including the touring Brass Band. Annual Music Celebration Week. The school offers each pupil over 5 different extra-curricular creative and performing arts clubs.
