Wycliffe Preparatory School is an independent prep day and boarding school for boys and girls (60%/40%) between the ages of 3 and 13 years. Boarding from Year 3 for the 30% of pupils who board. All are full boarders. The school has a non-selective admissions policy. It is the prep school to Wycliffe College, an all-through school to age 18. Wycliffe Preparatory School fees range from £4,452 (Rec) to £8,046 per term (2025/26). Full boarding fees range from £10,425 to £14,004 per term. Fees include VAT and lunches.

The Wycliffe Preparatory School curriculum

School curriculum is based on the National Curriculum and the ISEB Common Entrance curriculum with some additions and variations. It also includes PSHE, French, Spanish, German. School widens the curriculum with off-curriculum ‘Activities’ on Thursday afternoons, Saturday morning ‘Enrichment’ for Years 6 to 8. The Wycliffe Baccalaureate curriculum in Years 7 and 8 recognises academic achievement (two-thirds) and wider curriculum achievement/participation (one third). School has an accredited Gifted & Talented Programme and a CReSTeD recognised dyslexia facility. The school offers each child a handful of extra-curricular academic activities or hobby clubs.

There are regular educational trips for all year groups, visiting speakers, Forest School for the youngest pupils and residential trips from Year 5.

Specialist teaching

Specialist teachers for sport, music and languages throughout, and for most subjects from Year 6.

Sport at Wycliffe Preparatory School

Up to 5.5 hours (18% of curriculum time) of sport per week. School offers over 15 different sports through the year, through both the curriculum and extra-curriculum. Competitive teams in major sports from Year 3. In recent years the school has enjoyed national success in athletics, cross country, golf, squash.

The Arts at Wycliffe Preparatory School

Art, music and drama are taught as discrete curricular subjects to all pupils. All pupils learn an instrument in class and half take extra-curricular instrument lessons from Year 3. Three choirs and several instrument ensembles. There are some extra-curricular creative and performing arts clubs.
